About the event
Who’s up for the 2023 Shepherd’s Day progressive tour???
On Sat. April 15th, we will start the morning at 8 a.m. with a light breakfast at Last Move Farm, home to Thoroughbred mares and foals, dairy goats and Longwool and Texel crossbred sheep. This 50-acre farm near Millersburg, KY is a KY Proud B&B Agritourism destination and representative of a smaller ‘homesteading’ operation.
Next, after a short stop at Mustard Seed Hill for a quick look at the Kentucky Wool Works studio, we’re off to Final Frontier Farm just outside of Millersburg. There we will see a larger sheep operation, cuddle newborn lambs and, if we are lucky, witness the actual arrival of some lambs into the world!
Onward to Box Farm, where Charlotte Box will show her flock of North Country Cheviots before feeding us a scrumptious lunch at her B&B.
The day culminates at Edwards Wool Mill near Georgetown, KY where Cate and Shawn Edwards will give us a glimpse into their world—turning freshly shorn fleece into beautiful, natural yarn for knitters and crocheters.
